Terms

The contract for a temporary inbox.

These terms are the agreement between you and Secuno LLC for Mailby on mailby.app. They describe a receive-only inbox with a clock. They do not cancel a duty the law already places on you or on us.

01

Who you are dealing with

Mailby is operated by Secuno LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company, at 30 North Gould Street, Sheridan, Wyoming 82801, USA. The company website is secuno.net. The product website is mailby.app.

“You” means the person or company using the site, an inbox, an account, or the API. If you use Mailby for a business, you confirm you can bind that business.

02

What the service is

Mailby gives you an address that can receive mail for a limited time. The free inbox opens in the browser without an account. A free message can be up to 5 MB, attachments included. Premium adds the premium domains, custom domains, more than one address, a longer clock, and messages up to 25 MB. The current clocks and prices are on the pricing page.

The service accepts mail for a live address. It does not send mail from that address, it does not provide a mailbox you can log into with SMTP, and it is not an open relay. Local SMTP capture, when a plan includes it, listens on 127.0.0.1 and does not relay.

03

The address is not the key

Anyone who learns the address can send mail to it. They cannot open the inbox. Read access stays with the browser session that created the inbox, or with a recovery secret shown once. That secret is not placed in the URL. If you lose the session and the secret, we cannot reconstruct the inbox.

This is different from a public disposable inbox, where anyone who guesses the name can read the mail. Do not assume a Mailby address is anonymous to the site you sign up on. That site still sees the address you typed, and it may block temporary domains.

04

What this inbox is not for

Do not use a Mailby address as the only way back into an account you need later: banking, medical, government, payroll, or a password reset you cannot afford to lose. The free inbox stops accepting mail after about an hour, and the message is then deleted. A deleted address is not reused.

Do not send confidential, regulated, or irreplaceable information to a temporary address. The acceptable use rules also apply, including the ban on phishing, malware, fraud, and harassment.

05

Accounts, Google, and payment

An account is optional for the free inbox. If you create one, you give an email and a password, or you sign in with Google. Google shares a verified email and a subject identifier with us. We do not receive your Google password. A new Google email creates a Mailby account. An email that already exists signs into that account.

Paid plans are billed by Stripe. We do not store your full card number. Fees are charged in advance for the interval you pick. Taxes may be added where Stripe or the law requires them. You can cancel in the billing portal. Cancellation stops the next renewal. It does not refund a period that has already started, unless a non-waivable law says otherwise.

06

Mail is temporary on purpose

Two clocks run. The receive clock is how long the address accepts new mail. The retention clock is how long a message stays readable. On Free both default to about one hour, unless the live configuration says otherwise. Delete ends access immediately and schedules the content for removal. Details are on data retention.

We do not promise that a message will arrive, that a sender will accept the address, or that we can restore a message after the clock or after you delete it.

07

Your duty when you use an address

You are responsible for what you ask other people and other sites to send to a Mailby address, and for how you use a code or a link that arrives. You will not use the service to break the law, to harm someone, or to probe or overload the system. If you use the API, you will keep the key private and you will not share it in a public repository.

You grant Secuno LLC a limited right to receive, store, display, and delete the mail solely to run the inbox for the retention window, to block abuse, and to meet a lawful request. You do not transfer ownership of someone else’s message to us, and we do not claim it.

08

We can stop an inbox

We may refuse, throttle, or delete an inbox, a domain, a key, or an account when we believe it breaks these terms, the acceptable use rules, or the law, or when it puts the mail system at risk. We may do that without notice when delay would spread abuse. Where notice is practical, we will use the email on the account.

09

No warranty, and a limit on damages

The service is provided as available. Secuno LLC disclaims warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, to the extent the law allows. We do not warrant uninterrupted mail, a particular delivery time, or that every website will accept the address.

To the extent the law allows, Secuno LLC is not liable for lost mail, lost accounts on other sites, lost profits, or indirect damages. Our total liability for a claim arising out of the service is limited to the amount you paid us for Mailby in the three months before the claim, or fifty US dollars if you paid nothing. This cap does not apply where the law forbids it, including liability that cannot be limited for fraud or for willful misconduct.

These terms do not remove a legal duty that cannot be waived. They also do not make Secuno LLC the sender of mail that a third party addressed to your inbox.

10

Wyoming law, and changes

Wyoming law governs these terms, without its conflict-of-law rules. Courts in Sheridan County, Wyoming, or the federal courts that cover that county, are the venue, except where a consumer protection law in your country gives you a non-waivable right to sue at home. If you are in the EEA or the UK, the privacy rights on the privacy page still apply to personal data.

We may update these terms by posting a new version on this page with a new date. If you have an account and the change is material, we will also email the address on the account when we have one. Continuing to use Mailby after the new date means you accept the update. If you do not accept it, stop using the service and delete the inbox.
